Baseball Recap: Albany Comes Up Short

After flying high against Haskell last Tuesday, Albany came back down to earth. Albany fell just short of the Anson Tigers by a score of 7-6 on Friday. The Lions' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Albany saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wesley Gleitz, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and two RBI.

Albany's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2-3. As for Anson, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-6 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Albany is set to challenge their familiar foe Stamford at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Albany 4, Stamford 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Anson will take on rival Haskell at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
