Two dominant signal callers in Elijah Edon and Wyatt Marsh are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Eastern Hancock Royals will be playing at home against the Milan Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Eastern Hancock's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 52-0 victory over Park Tudor. The game marked the Royals' most dominant win of the season.
Mark Kube was his usual excellent self, rushing for 107 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries.
Eastern Hancock didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Park Tudor to a completion percentage of just 42.3%. The Royals have been improving in that area: they had allowed a completion percentage of 0.65 earlier this season, but they've only allowed one of 0.65 in their last three games.
Eastern Hancock's defense didn't let Christopher Harris, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for 5.5 sacks. Leading the way was Evan Wheeler with two. Taylor Conley got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Milan). They claimed a resounding 68-8 victory over Brown County. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Indians as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Milan's win came from a few key players Eastern Hancock will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Beckett Langferman, who rushed for 95 yards and one score on only seven carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Norman, who picked up 91 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.
Milan's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-3. As for Eastern Hancock, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Eastern Hancock couldn't quite get it done against Milan when the teams last played back in September of 2024 as they fell 8-0. Can the Royals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
