The Higley Knights had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took their game on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 71-41 victory over Casa Grande. That's another feather in the cap for Higley, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Higley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cadence Murdough out in front who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Murdough is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Claire Greenwade, who scored 14 points along with five assists and two steals.
When it comes to explaining why Casa Grande lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kaydence Apkaw. Despite the final result, she scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Apkaw is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Baleigh Nash was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds.
Higley's victory bumped their record up to 16-10. As for Casa Grande, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost 13 of their last 15 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season.
Higley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Casa Grande also has no future games currently scheduled.
