The Chowchilla Tribe will take on the Le Grand Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Chowchilla hadn't beaten Yosemite on the road since May 10, 2022 but that history sure didn't bother them on Tuesday. The Tribe blew past the Badgers 21-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tribe.
Heaven Moore made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Moore was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Chowchilla got a massive performance out of Lexyss Sabin, who fired off two home runs and nine RBI while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave Sabin a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Avery Tomlinson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one triple.
Chowchilla hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 7-2 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Meanwhile, Le Grand waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Everything went their way against the Grizzlies as they made off with a 9-3 victory.
Like Chowchilla, Le Grand also got a great game from a two-way player: Ava Avila. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. Avila has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 23 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run.
In other batting news, Karly Reyes was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Makayla Leyva was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Le Grand's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-6. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.6 runs over those games. As for Chowchilla, their win bumped their record up to 13-9.
Wednesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Chowchilla has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .455. However, it's not like Le Grand struggles in that department as they've averaged .519. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Chowchilla was able to grind out a solid victory over Le Grand in their previous meeting back in March of 2019, winning 4-1. Will the Tribe repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
