While Walnut Hills's win against Western Hills wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Mustangs 8-6. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won four in a row.

The team relied heavily on Andrew Gorenflo, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Michael Scruggs, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Walnut Hills' victory bumped their record up to 5-19. As for Western Hills, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.

Coming up, Walnut Hills will venture away from home to square off against Roger Bacon at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season. As for Western Hills, they will face off against Northwest at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
