Scarlett Whittaker was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Rylie Johnson was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. She is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Haylie Johnson was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Fredericksburg Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .778. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Saint John Paul the Great Catholic came up short against Elizabeth Seton on Thursday, falling 13-6.
