The Killian Hill Christian Cougars pushed their score all the way to 60 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 66-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fideles Christian. While losing is never fun, Killian Hill Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 527th, while Fideles Christian is ranked 206th).
Despite the loss, Killian Hill Christian still got an impressive performance from Emory Berry, who scored 37 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Berry has scored all season. LJ Smalling was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds.
Gabe Reynolds was his usual excellent self, scoring 31 points along with two steals for Fideles Christian. Reynolds hasn't dropped below 15points for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Xander Lipinski, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds.
Killian Hill Christian has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Fideles Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 10-3.
Killian Hill Christian will be playing at home against Young Americans Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Young Americans Christian is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak. Fideles Christian's road trip will continue as they head out to face Scholars Guild Academy at 7:15 p.m. on January 11th. Scholars Guild Academy is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 51.4 points per game.
