Even though the Mountain Crest Mustangs have not done well against the Bear River Bears recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Mountain Crest walked away with a 71-58 victory over Bear River. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Josh Arnell continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 28 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Kaden Hess was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Mountain Crest's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for Bear River, their loss dropped their record down to 12-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mountain Crest will challenge Ridgeline at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Ridgeline focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday. As for Bear River, they will head out on the road to challenge Logan at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Logan is coming into the contest hot, having won their last seven games.
