The Pilot Point Bearcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 17th straight loss. They were beaten by Paradise 86-23. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Pilot Point in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost four in a row.
Leading Paradise to victory were Channing Beauvais and Brittan Richey. Beauvais scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks, while Richey scored 19 points along with eight steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Richey has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Gazey Yates, who scored ten points along with six steals.
Pilot Point dropped their record down to 1-24 with that defeat, which was their 23rd straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.4 points per game. As for Paradise, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 25-7 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pilot Point will face off against the Wildcats at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Callisburg is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for Paradise, they will head out on the road to challenge the Yellowjackets at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Boyd will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1263rd, while the Panthers are ranked 277th).
