The Smithfield Packers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 44-22 walloping at the hands of Warhill. Smithfield has not had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Warhill found their leader in underclassman Taleah James, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points James has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of D'Shela Walker, who scored six points along with nine rebounds and five assists.
Smithfield dropped their record down to 2-11 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.7 points per game. As for Warhill, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-3.
Smithfield will head out on the road to square off against the Islanders at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Warhill, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Jamestown is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
