On Monday, Harvey strolled past St. John with points to spare, taking the game 71-54. The win made it back-to-back wins for Harvey.
Several Woodchucks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cashmyn Belgarde, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds. Belgarde scored a full 31.5% of St. John's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Madden Parisien was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with six rebounds.
Harvey's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for St. John, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-3.
Harvey will finish 2023 at home by hosting New Rockford-Sheyenne at 5:00 p.m. on December 28th. New Rockford-Sheyenne will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. St. John won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Benson County [Leeds/Maddock] at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Dakota (Benson County [Leeds/Maddock] is ranked 70th, while St. John is ranked 63rd).
