Ben Lomond is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 11th straight game on Thursday. They had to suffer through a 58-21 loss at the hands of Ogden. The Scots were down 44-14 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
They got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Aleia Huff and Payton Huff, who each put up five points. Aleia also led the team in rebounds with five.
Meanwhile, Grantsville humbled South Summit with a 71-27 victory. The Cowboys have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 games by 22 points or more this season.
Grantsville's win came from a few key players Ben Lomond will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Baylee Lowder, who went 10 of 15 en route to 25 points along with three steals and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Allred, who went 8 for 12 on her way to 23 points and eight boards.
Grantsville was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Summit only racked up nine assists.
Grantsville's victory was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29.1 points. As for Ben Lomond, their loss dropped their record down to 2-17.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Ben Lomond has been crashing the rebounds this season, having averaged 26.3 boards per game. However, it's not like Grantsville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31.3 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Ben Lomond took a serious blow against Grantsville when the teams last played back in January, falling 66-17. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Ben Lomond was down 46-10.
