Salinas is a perfect 4-0 against Palma since April of 2025 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Cowboys will square off against the Chieftains at 4:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Salinas' pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Watsonville with a sharp 7-0 victory. The Cowboys haven't had any issues with the Wildcatz recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
The result came thanks to Bella Machuca's shutout, as she gave up just six hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Kianna Campbell was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles and three RBI. Gigi Rossi was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run and two runs.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Salinas kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2025.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Palma, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. Everything went their way against Pacific Grove on Tuesday as they made off with a 7-0 victory.
Mulan Hunkin was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Analysia Rocha, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.
Palma now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Salinas, their record is now 9-1.
Salinas' speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's contest. The Cowboys have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Palma, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Salinas continue to outrun the ball?
Salinas came out on top in a nail-biter against Palma in their previous matchup two weeks ago, sneaking past 6-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cowboys since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
