The Geneva Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 56-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of International Community. Geneva has not had much luck with International Community recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
International Community's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gavin Philips, who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds. Those nine rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Paxton Boaz was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Geneva has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for International Community, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-6.
Geneva will be home for the holidays to greet Merritt Island Christian at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Merritt Island Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 on Friday. International Community won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Trinity Prep at 1:30 p.m. on December 16th. Trinity Prep is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
