Great Falls' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Emily Manning led the charge by getting three digs and three aces. Payson Brantley was another key player, getting six aces.
They weren't the only good servers: Great Falls was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 18 aces. That's the most aces they've posted in their last six contests.
Meanwhile, C.A. Johnson made easy work of Midlands STEM Charter on Thursday and carried off a 3-0 win.
Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: C.A. Johnson took every set by at least 25 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-0, 25-0, 25-0.
Great Falls' record now sits at 11-6-1. As for C.A. Johnson, their record is now 12-6.
Everything went Great Falls' way against C.A. Johnson when the teams last played back in September, as Great Falls made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Devils since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
