Simon Tech has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the New Designs Watts Knights at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Simon Tech focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Thursday.
Last Thursday, Simon Tech was beaten by Animo Watts 74-40.
Despite the defeat, Simon Tech had strong showings from Karlos Hodgson , who scored 15 points along with five rebounds, and Shane Hicks, who scored ten points. Hodgson scored a full 37.5% of Simon Tech's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, New Designs Watts took their game at home on Thursday with ease, bagging a 120-19 victory over Burton. With that victory, New Designs Watts brought their scoring average up to 67.7 points per game.
New Designs Watts can attribute much of their success to Kevione Fitz, who scored 30 points, and Martavius Watson, who scored 33 points. The match was Fitz's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Magic Haynes, who scored 17 points.
Simon Tech's loss was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-2. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.7 points per game. As for New Designs Watts, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.
Simon Tech was taken down by New Designs Watts 66-24 in their previous matchup back in January. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Simon Tech was down 38-10.
