Wenonah is 0-10 against the Spartans since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Wenonah Dragons will head out on the road to face off against the Pleasant Grove Spartans at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Wenonah stacked a 14th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 64-36 win over John Carroll Catholic on the road. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 38-17.
Samarian Franklin continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 23 points along with six steals and five assists. She hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. Another player making a difference was Jakerria Ringstaff, who scored nine points along with seven assists and seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Pleasant Grove entered their tilt with the Dragons with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Pleasant Grove came out on top against the Dragons by a score of 65-58 last Friday.
Wenonah is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 24-7 record this season. As for Pleasant Grove, they pushed their record up to 17-7 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Wenonah came up short against the Spartans in their previous matchup last Friday, falling 65-58. Can Wenonah avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
