Softball Recap: Homestead Extends Winning Streak to Three

Homestead lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Varela, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's matchup. The Homestead Broncos were the clear victor by a 29-7 margin over the Varela Vipers on Tuesday. The win was just business as usual for the Broncos, who after three games remain undefeated this season.

Homestead got a massive performance out of Audrina Thomason, who scored five runs and stole 13 bases. while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Deanna Jones was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing Nine bases. while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

Homestead always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .814. The last time their OBP was this high was since the start of last season.

Homestead's record is now 3-0. As for Varela, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Homestead will take on Carol City at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Varela, they will square off against Somerset Academy South Homestead at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Somerset Academy South Homestead is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.2 runs per game this season.
