Basketball Recap: Jabril Scott's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Cristo Rey over Roanoke Catholic

The Cristo Rey Royals came up short against the Roanoke Catholic Celtics on Saturday and fell 69-58. The loss was the Royals' first of the season.

Several Royals players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jabril Scott, who shot 67% from the field on his way to 19 points along with six rebounds and four blocks. Thanks to that strong game, Scott now owns an excellent 50% shooting accuracy. Chris Kendall Jr. was another key player, going 5-for-7 to rack up 17 points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Cristo Rey fell to 3-1. As for Roanoke Catholic, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Cristo Rey and Roanoke Catholic will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Royals see the court they'll take on Appomattox Regional Governor's Arts & Tech at 7:00 p.m. on December 2. As for Roanoke Catholic, their break will end when they face Veritas School at 3:30 p.m. on December 5.
