District 10 Region 6 AAA recap Sept. 26, 2012
Strong Vincent was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to fourth in District 10 Region 6 AAA. Earlier in the week, the Colonels defeated East 20-6.
Central Tech moved up to 363 from 399 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Falcons were able to make the jump by beating the Falcons 61-21.
Strong Vincent's dynamic duo of Chris Starocci and Zhamar Mcadory proved tough for the Warriors to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Starocci threw for 38 yards and Mcadory had 26 yards receiving. Donnie Tatum helped Strong Vincent's passing attack out by catching one ball for 12 yards.
Quinn Thompson was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 140 yards on six carries as General McLane defeated East. Teammate Marcus Erdman added to the ground attack by rushing for 91 yards.
6-foot-4 quarterback Damion Terry of Cathedral Prep is the league leader in passing yards this season with 737. He has also thrown nine touchdowns. On the ground, McDowell's James Conner has rushed for 537 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Avery Kirksey. The East star has nine catches for 246 yards.
The Trojans were able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after beating the Trojans 34-10. McDowell came in at 8 in the state poll after placing at number 30 last week.
