Louisville added to the longest winning streak in Northeastern Buckeye this week by beating Alliance, 24-21. This was the team's ninth consecutive win.
Michael Williams was a key player and the best on defense this week as the Aviators lost to Louisville. The 6-foot-4 junior grabbed 3 sacks.
Parrish Martin was a passing and rushing force as Alliance lost to John Demarco's team. He completed 5 passes for 75 yards and 1 touchdown and also ran for 100 yards. Martin's key target this week was Martin, who caught 8 passes for 51 yards.
Josh Lyon and DJ Wilson gave Canton South a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Lyon threw for 97 yards and 1 touchdown, while Wilson ran for 113 yards. Kahlil Coleman also contributed to the rushing game with 71 yards on the ground.
Mike Schott's team's Kordelle Phillips and JJ Kukura have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-8 quarterback Phillips has thrown for 1,913 yards this season, while Kukura has 45 catches for 654 yards. Connor Zwick from the Leopards leads the league in rushing with 615 yards.
The Aviators' Phillips is within 87 passing yards of surpassing 2,000 on the season coming into this week's game against Marlington.
The Wildcats are currently in third, while Louisville is in first.
The Dukes led the league in scoring this week after putting up 31 points on Carrollton.
