This season hasn't been kind to The Atkinson County Rebels, who are still winless after their ninth match. They were outmatched by Lanier County on the road and fell 56-13. Atkinson County was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-0.
Drake Wolford had an outrageously good game for Lanier County as he rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown on only five carries, and also threw for 94 yards and three touchdowns. Wolford was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 50 yards. Nehemiah Davis was in the mix too, providing Lanier County with two touchdowns.
Atkinson County's loss was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-9. As for Lanier County, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.
Atkinson County will be playing in front of their home fans against Turner County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lanier County, they will head out on the road to face off against Charlton County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
