Florala has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Straughn Tigers at 5:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Hopefully Florala focused on turnovers this week  since the team gave up 14 on Saturday.
 Florala's and Pleasant Home's contest  was close at halftime, but Florala turned on the heat in the second half with 38  points. Florala was the clear victor by a  61-40 margin over Pleasant Home. That  61-40 margin sets a new team best for Florala this season.
 Florala's win  was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from   Elijah  McMeans, who  scored 21 points along with nine  rebounds. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of  Rayshon Coleman, who  scored 15 points along with seven  assists.
 Meanwhile, Straughn ended up a good deal behind McKenzie on Monday and lost  60-41. Straughn has now  taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 Florala has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won seven of their last eight matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Straughn, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.
 Florala didn't have too much breathing room in their  matchup against Straughn  in their previous matchup  back in November, but they still walked away with a  46-42 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Florala since the  squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
