It was a good run, but New Dimensions unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Poinciana on the road and fell 81-44. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points New Dimensions has scored all season.
New Dimensions' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elijah Rios, who scored 13 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rios has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ace Gorsline, who scored ten points.
It was another big night for Jordan Isaac, who scored 47 points along with six rebounds and two steals for Poinciana. Steven Bennett was another key contributor, almost dropping a triple-double on 13 points, 11 assists, and nine steals.
New Dimensions' defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Poinciana, they pushed their record up to 10-4 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
New Dimensions will take on Mater Brighton Lakes Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Poinciana will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Horizon at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. Horizon will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 504th, while Poinciana is ranked 121st).
