The Calvert Senecas are taking a road trip to square off against the Old Fort Stockaders at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Calvert is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Calvert's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They came out on top against New Riegel by a score of 3-0. Those three runs were actually the fewest the Senecas have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.
Not much got past Ava Eilrich, who gave up just a hit and racked up seven Ks to keep New Riegel off the board. Eilrich has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kate Coleman, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Calvert kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as New Riegel only managed one.
Meanwhile, Old Fort started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Lakota. They fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 9-8 on Friday. The Stockaders have struggled against the Raiders recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Abbi Ward made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Marah Miller, who went 3-for-4 with one run.
Old Fort's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Calvert, their win bumped their record up to 12-0.
Saturday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Calvert hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .399. However, it's not like Old Fort struggles in that department as they've averaged .313. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Calvert beat Old Fort 6-2 in their previous matchup on Monday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Senecas since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
