The Innovation Academy The Red Tailed Hawk will head out on the road to challenge Prospect Hill Academy at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Innovation Academy has four straight victories, Prospect Hill Academy has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Even though Innovation Academy has not done well against Northeast Metro RVT recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Innovation Academy came out on top against Northeast Metro RVT by a score of 69-62. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Derrick Twum continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 29 points along with nine rebounds and five steals. He also posted two+ blocks for the first time this season. Bryce Kankam was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with two blocks.
Meanwhile, Prospect Hill Academy came up short against Millis back in December of 2023 and fell 53-40. Prospect Hill Academy has not had much luck with Millis recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Innovation Academy now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Prospect Hill Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
Innovation Academy strolled past Prospect Hill Academy when the teams last played back in January of 2023 by a score of 69-55. The rematch might be a little tougher for Innovation Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
