Fans got a thrill when Micah Kanehailua and Kamuela Kawamoto connected against Hawaii Prep. The longest such play in Big Island II this season, the connection resulted in 97 yards.
Kamehameha Hawai'i lost to the Ka Makani 41-24 last week, the largest margin of any game. Kanehailua threw for 177 yards and 3 touchdowns in the loss.
Konawaena's Brandon Howes and Chase Takaki have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-10 quarterback Howes has thrown for 2,020 yards this season, while Takaki has 40 catches for 708 yards. Kamehameha Hawai'i's Faaolaina Ina Teofilo leads the league in rushing yards with 768.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Hawaii Prep takes on Honoka'a. At the moment, Jordan Hayslip's team is in second, while the Dragons are in fourth.
