Jackpot has enjoyed a six-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Lund Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Jackpot comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 19 points in their last 11 games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
On Wednesday, Jackpot had to suffer through a rough 54-2 loss at the hands of the Vandals. Jackpot was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-0.
Meanwhile, Lund came into Saturday's game having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They snuck past Carlin with a 27-22 victory on Saturday. The victory was just what Lund needed coming off of a 69-41 loss in their prior game.
Jackpot's defeat was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-11. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 17.8 points per game. As for Lund, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-11.
Jackpot suffered a grim 31-8 defeat to the Mustangs in their previous meeting back in January. Can Jackpot avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
