The Tonasket Tigers can finally bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They came out on top against Okanogan by a score of 51-44. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Tonasket also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tonasket to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tanner Tompkins, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kristian Jones, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and six steals.
Tonasket's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-7. As for Okanogan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tonasket will take on Oroville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Oroville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings (they are ranked 342nd, while Tonasket is ranked 128th). As for Okanogan, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Bridgeport at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th.
