The Woodlawn Warriors suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They were outmatched by Loch Raven on the road and fell 62-29. While losing is never fun, Woodlawn can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 155th, while Loch Raven is ranked 47th).
Leading Loch Raven to victory were Maya Gordon and Destaney Harris. Gordon scored 16 points, while Harris scored 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Harris has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Meona Boykin, who scored nine points.
Woodlawn now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Loch Raven, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Woodlawn will take on Hereford at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hereford is coming into the game hot, having won their last eight games. As for Loch Raven, they will head out on the road to face off against Lansdowne at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Lansdowne is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.
