The Dobson Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the West Point Dragons at 3:35 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
On Thursday, Dobson made easy work of Apollo and carried off a 13-4 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Allie Hanson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2025. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Kiley Beard and Mersades Torres did most of the damage at the plate: Beard got on base in five of her six plate appearances with four runs, while Torres went 4-for-6 with two runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Lilly Flick, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
Dobson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Point). They were the clear victors by a 15-4 margin over Cesar Chavez on Thursday. Considering the Dragons have won four matchups by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Ellah De La Riva was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Audrina Paschke was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI.
West Point's record now sits at 6-2. As for Dobson, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Dobson hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .456. However, it's not like West Point struggles in that department as they've averaged .399. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Dobson might still be hurting after the 16-6 loss they got from West Point in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
