Havelock extended the longest winning streak in 3A Coastal this week by beating West Craven, 44-7. The victory was the ninth in a row for the team.
White Oak made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 11,813 from 12,062.
Conley's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Davis Kirkpatrick threw for 137 and one touchdown and Bryant Beaulieu had 51 yards receiving. On the ground Walker Cummings chipped in 121 yards. Shemik Strickland helped Conley's passing attack out by catching one ball for 39 yards.
Havelock's Pharoh Cooper and Michael Bowman have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Cooper has thrown for 2038 yards this season, while Bowman, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 33 catches for 544 yards. The Vikings' Cummings leads the league in rushing yards with 1315.
Jim Bob Bryant's team's Cooper needs only 86 yards against Currituck County next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Cooper has rushed for 914 yards on 101 carries so far this year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Washington takes on the Eagles. As it stands, the Pam-Pack are in second, while West Craven is in sixth.
