West Marion put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let the Perry Central Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 17-0 on March 7th.

Izzy Pittman made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Pittman was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles and two RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in February of 2024.

In other batting news, McKenzie 'Bug' Stringer was a standout: she scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Aliyah Graham was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

West Marion always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .607. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in seven consecutive contests.

West Marion's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-0. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Perry Central, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-7-1.

Coming up, West Marion will venture away from home to square off against Our Lady Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Our Lady Academy has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.85 runs per game on average), something West Marion will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Perry Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hattiesburg at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Perry Central is facing Hattiesburg at the right time seeing as Hattiesburg is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
