Valencia is 9-1 against Canyon since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Vikings will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cowboys at 3:15 p.m. Valencia's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Canyon's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Valencia's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Castaic as they made off with an 8-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Coyotes: they've now won eight in a row.

Not much got past Carly Kearns, who gave up just five hits and racked up 13 Ks to keep Castaic off the board. Kearns has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Sydney Bolder, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Blair Rune was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Valencia kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Canyon beat Golden Valley 7-2 on Thursday.
Jessica Carr spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, Karina Montero was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Brooke Phillips, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Canyon's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-10. As for Valencia, their win bumped their record up to 10-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Valencia has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Canyon struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Valencia couldn't quite finish off Canyon in their previous meeting back in March and fell 2-0. Will the Vikings have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
