Basketball Recap: Sargent Piles Up the Points Against Creede

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sargent). They took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 75-17 win over the Creede Miners. The Farmers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 20 points or more this season.

Sargent's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kandace Pargin, who went 7 of 17 en route to 25 points in addition to eight steals and five assists. Those 25 points gave Pargin a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Angelise Garcia, who went 9 for 17 on her way to 19 points and eight steals.

Pargin wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Sargent was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Creede only posted one assist.

Sargent is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.5 points per game. As for Creede, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Sargent wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 56-17 victory against Ignacio on the 14th. As for Creede, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 52-46 win against Primero on the 11th.
