The Wilmington Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Saugus Sachems at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wilmington is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
Wilmington and Foxborough squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly Wilmington had to settle for second. Wilmington took a serious blow against Foxborough, falling 42-0. Wilmington has struggled against Foxborough recently, as their matchup on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Saugus was able to grind out a solid win over Georgetown/Pentucket Regional on Friday, taking the game 20-8. The victory was just what Saugus needed coming off of a 38-8 loss in their prior contest.
Isaiah Rodriguez was the offensive standout of the matchup as he picked up 118 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Foxborough's win bumped their season record to 8-1 while Wilmington's loss dropped theirs to 4-5.
Wilmington didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Saugus in their previous matchup back in November of 2019, but they still walked away with a 14-8 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wilmington since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
