Fans got a thrill when Blake Meyer and Tyler Clay connected against Cerritos. The connection went for 78 yards, the longest such play in Golden West this season.
Orange moved up to 803 from 831 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Panthers were able to move up by beating Savanna 20-14.
Ocean View's dynamic duo of Meyer and Clay proved to be unstoppable against the Dons, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Meyer threw for 293 yards and 4 touchdowns and Clay had 209 yards receiving. Hector Calderon helped Ocean View's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 58 yards.
The Seahawks' dynamic duo of Meyer and Clay proved tough for Cerritos to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
He went 8-28 with 2 interceptions.
Omar Navarro was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 117 yards on 12 carries as Segerstrom lost to Darin Owens' team. Justin Young also contributed to the rushing game with 58 yards on the ground.
Meyer put up the best numbers through the air as Luis Nunez's team lost to the Dons.
Clay was the best receiver in Golden West this week as the Seahawks fell to Cerritos.
Santa Ana's Fidel Cendejas and Sergio Cadena have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Cendejas has thrown for 528 yards this season, while Cadena, a 5-foot-9 receiver, has 12 catches for 267 yards. The Jaguars' Navarro leads the league in rushing yards with 558.
Orange and the Rebels played the closest game in the league this week, with Orange eventually emerging with a 20-14 victory.
