The Huron Tigers will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Margaretta Polar Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Saturday, Huron didn't have too much trouble with Edison on the road as they won 56-42. Given Huron's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 258th, while Edison is ranked 710th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Even though Margaretta has not done well against Vermilion recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Margaretta claimed a resounding 57-18 win over Vermilion at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 41-9.
Huron now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Margaretta, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1.
Huron took their victory against Margaretta in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 62-39. The rematch might be a little tougher for Huron since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
