The Charleston Bluejays's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight defeat. They fell 52-40 to Jackson. Charleston has struggled against the Fighting Indians recently, as their game on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Charleston lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ko'terrion Owens, who scored 13 points along with two blocks. It was the first time this season that Owens posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Zachyran Thomas, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Jackson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kole Deck, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Holdman, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 15 rebounds.
Charleston has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season. As for Jackson, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Charleston will take on the Panthers at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Jackson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Oakville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 323rd, while the Fighting Indians are ranked 49th).
