Baseball Recap: Muscatine Has No Trouble Against Clinton

While Muscatine didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Clinton River Kings on Monday. Considering the Muskies have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Muscatine has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Clinton, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Muscatine beat the River Kings by a score of 7-1 later that day.
