The Valley Oaks CES Vanguards's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their tenth straight loss. They fell 60-50 to Community Charter. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Valley Oaks CES in their matchups with the Titans: they've now lost four in a row.
Leading Community Charter to victory were Edem Ladzekpo and Antonio Chancon. Ladzekpo scored 12 points along with eight rebounds, while Chancon scored 16 points along with five rebounds and four steals. It was the first time this season that Chancon scored 15 or more points. Misael Davila was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Valley Oaks CES's loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Community Charter, their win bumped their record up to 8-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valley Oaks CES will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Knights at 4:00 p.m. on February 2nd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in California (Bert Corona Charter is ranked 1462nd, while the Vanguards are ranked 1452nd). As for Community Charter, they will head out on the road to face off against the Panthers at 2:30 p.m. on Friday.
