The Eagles will venture away from home to face off against the Reindeer at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (New Madrid County Central has three straight victories, Clarkton has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
New Madrid County Central is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Charleston with a sharp 21-0 win on Tuesday. Considering the Eagles have won ten games by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Lilee Atchley made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, New Madrid County Central got a massive performance out of Madilynn Colbert, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Ella Courtois also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
New Madrid County Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .853. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Clarkton came up short against Richland on Thursday and fell 16-11.
Miranda Hernandez was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Mikayla Davis, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
New Madrid County Central's record now sits at 10-5. As for Clarkton, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. New Madrid County Central has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .542. However, it's not like Clarkton struggles in that department as they've averaged .517. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
New Madrid County Central got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 against Clarkton by a conclusive 21-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
