This season hasn't been kind to the Sheridan Rams, who are still winless after their seventh match. They took a serious blow against Lake County on Tuesday, falling 80-44. Sheridan has struggled against Lake County recently, as their game on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Rams players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Will Brent, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and three steals. Brent is absolutely dominating the block category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Bobby Garcia was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Even though they lost, Sheridan were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lake County only pulled down 26 offensive rebounds.
Lake County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Canaan Hall, who scored 21 points along with five steals. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Jason Ayers, who scored 17 points along with eight steals.
Sheridan's loss was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-7. As for Lake County, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
Sheridan will be playing in front of their home fans against Arrupe Jesuit at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lake County, they will head out on the road to face off against Bennett at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Bennett is ranked 213th, while Lake County is ranked 205th).
