Churubusco got their first taste of in-conference action  on Tuesday and they started things off strong. They won by a  set and slipped past the Central Noble Cougars  3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  win the Eagles have posted  since October 8, 2024.
 The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Churubusco who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 27-25, 25-27, 25-14, 16-25,  16-14.
Churubusco found their leader in sophomore  Alyssa Marks, who  had 24  assists and 14  digs. Those 14  digs set a new season-high mark for  Marks.  Ava Marks was another key player,  getting ten  digs and four assists.

 Churubusco  was lethal from the service line and  finished the game with 18  aces. That's the most  aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.
 Despite the loss, Central Noble still got an impressive performance from   Katie Forker, who  had 25  digs and two  aces. Forker has been hot recently, having  posted 24 or more  digs the last three times she's  played.  Audrey Wallace also deserves some recognition as  she  had her first  kill of the season.
Churubusco's victory  ended  a  six-game drought on the road  dating back to last season and  puts them at 2-9. As for Central Noble, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record  this season.
