The Gilbert Tigers can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Tuesday. They blew past Highland 68-46. The win was familiar territory for Gilbert who now have three in a row.
Gilbert's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Morgan Evenson, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. Meisha Caserio was another key contributor, scoring 23 points along with two steals.
Highland's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bailey Williams, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Riggs, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Gilbert pushed their record up to 17-2 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.8 points per game. As for Highland, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-8.
Gilbert will head out on the road to square off against Corona del Sol at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Corona del Sol will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 171st, while Gilbert is ranked third). As for Highland, they will play host again and welcome Desert Vista, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Desert Vista is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 64.2 points per game.
