Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Unity Christian's Third in Last Four Outings

If Quad Cities Christian wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Unity Christian, they should've done a better job of containing Maddy Wilbur. The Unity Christian Knights secured a 40-34 W over the Quad Cities Christian Eagles on Tuesday thanks in part to Wilbur, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 boards. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game.

Another player making a difference was Julia Van Kampen, who went 7 of 14 en route to 15 points. Those 15 points gave her a new career-high.

Quad Cities Christian's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kennedy Ochkie, who posted 13 points along with five boards and five steals, and Ayda Kyer, who put up 11 points in addition to seven steals and six boards. Kyer has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Raegan Ochkie, who posted two points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Unity Christian is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for Quad Cities Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.
