If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for West Branch. They will look to defend their home turf on Friday against North Cedar at 7:00 PM. Given that they both suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this weekend.
After a big victory against Tipton two weeks ago, West Branch came back down to earth. West Branch fell to Bellevue 20-28. West Branch's loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Meanwhile, we expected North Cedar to have trouble with the significantly higher ranked Cascade last Friday, and they did. North Cedar suffered a grim 19-47 defeat to Cascade.
Everything came up roses for West Branch against North Cedar the last time the two teams met as the team secured a 49-7 victory. Will West Branch repeat their success, or does North Cedar have a better game plan this time around ? We'll find out soon enough.
