North Fort Myers' pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 17-0 margin over Lehigh. The result was nothing new for the Red Knights, who have now won six contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Junior Tome was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Tome was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in February.

Back at the plate, North Fort Myers let Jakob Wagner and Nicholas Oliveros run wild. Wagner went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Oliveros went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and two RBI. Those four hits gave Oliveros a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Estrada, who scored two runs while going 1-for-1.
North Fort Myers always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .639. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Wednesday Mariner sidestepped Port Charlotte for a 3-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Tritons in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now won seven in a row.
Mariner's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Kotarski, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
North Fort Myers pushed their record up to 9-6 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Mariner, their victory bumped their record up to 12-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. North Fort Myers has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Mariner struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
