With a playoff win on the line, West Point rose to the challenge on Friday. They breezed past the Pontotoc Warriors to the tune of 37-0. The result was nothing new for the Green Wave, who have now won nine matchups by 23 points or more so far this season.

Quentin Thompson went supernova, rushing for 166 yards on only seven carries. His longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards.

Thompson was just one part of a punishing run game: West Point was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 283 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 155 rushing yards in six consecutive contests.

West Point's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-0. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 6.0 points on average over those games. As for Pontotoc, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-5.

Looking ahead, West Point will square off against Holmes County Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Green Wave will need to watch out since the Jaguars have now posted at least 31 points in their last three games. Pontotoc does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
