The Florida School for the Deaf & Blind Dragons will stay at home for another week and welcome the Eastland Christian Hurricanes at 7:00 p.m. on November 9th. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Florida School for the Deaf & Blind walked away with it. They blew past City of Life Christian Academy 38-16. The victory was just what Florida School for the Deaf & Blind needed coming off of a 46-16 loss in their prior match.
Florida School for the Deaf & Blind's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ajani Zahira led the charge by rushing for 132 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries. Another player making a difference was Roud Valcin, who rushed for 113 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries.
Meanwhile, Eastland Christian faced Oasis Christian in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Eastland Christian claimed a resounding 38-6 victory over Oasis Christian at home. The win made it back-to-back wins for Eastland Christian.
Their wins bumped Florida School for the Deaf & Blind to 5-4 and Eastland Christian to 7-3.
